About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Find my keys!

ABOUT ME

I failed the arts-course in school. I prefer big cups to small ones. I don't like Christmas. I like showering. I prefer brown to orange. I stare into campfires. I never find my keys. I can't remember my birth. I sometimes can't remember last night. I have 3 aunts, one of which is scary. I enjoy inventing silly rhymes. I used to share a flat with the worst cook in the world. I'm allergic to bees. I've never swum with dolphins (Update: I actually have). I have my camera stolen on a regular basis. I drink more coffee than I should. I pick up hitchhikers. I cycled to Norway once. I swam to Switzerland once. I confuse Brad Pitt with Leonardo di Caprio. I procrastinate. I don't keep a diary. I adore Scottish accents. I can roll my tongue. I can bite my toe. I can tell verification from validation. I can believe it's not butter. I've never had a broken bone. I failed my first driver's license test. I think pirates are cooler than ninjas. I am way too ticklish. I hate the orange game. I sleep on my stomach. I spent my 18th birthday unconscious. I'm trying to improve my Spanish. I'm being too lazy with that though. I don't like airports. I was acting in a music video once. I played a creep. I descend from apes. I don't smoke. I love the chaos in La Paz. I can't believe you're actually reading all this. I don't like bacon. I can swear in Hindi. I don't mind spiders. I've never owned a gameboy. I'd love to play guitar. I had a toothbrush with my name on it. I lost it though. I don't own a TV. I consist of 70% water. I never see through card tricks. I sometimes pretend to be a Finn at parties. I just realised I haven't done this in way too long. I help organizing Edinburgh Rocks. I hope I'll see you there? I cry when chopping onions. I had a hamster when I was young. I have good eyes. I have bad ears. I speak German with a slight regional dialect. I built a tree house when I was a child. I own a didgeridoo. I broke it on my birthday. I think 'abseiling' is the funniest word. I've googled my own name. I'm kinda shy. I was joking, I'm not usually. I can be sometimes though. I loathe the fuss made about celebreties. I have a brother. I badly bruised my ass while riding a horse in Ecuador. I love checking my mailbox and finding a postcard. I would be called Annika if I was a girl. I guess I got lucky there. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend anyone. I actually think Annika is a pretty name. I think I got carried away a bit now though. I should go jogging more often. I like candles. I hope I will be something fluffy in my next life. Ich bin kein Berliner. I wouldn't mind being from Berlin though. I dig ginger cookies. I sometimes add stuff to this list. I never seem to delete anything though. I guess that's why it's so bloody long. I chew on pens. I don't snore. I was told, that is. I'm mostly clueless. I blush easily. Kids like me.

PHILOSOPHY

Whoever said love was the cure never has had diarrhea.

Yep, that'll do for now.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Had tons of excellent CouchSurfing and Hospitality Club encounters during a cycling trip through Finland and Norway a few summers back. That and the most hilarious birthday party at Rhian's. Oh, and we can't forget the wonderful people in the US of A and South America. That said, Edinburgh has the bestestest CS community in the world. Period.

Interests

Traveling (yeah, I know...), sports (squash, football, skiing, surfing etc.), in particular riding my bike, but also hiking and other outdoor stuff, having a good laugh, worshiping false idols, talking utter nonsense, hitchhiking and carsharing, Scotland, excessive use of chili when cooking, porn (added on request of my favourite Austrian Australian), reading, playing poker (but only when I'm winning), performing poorly at salsa or karaoke, paragliding (as in flying around and spitting on your heads), music, party, festivals, friends, coffee, summer, sun, fun, whatever :)

There are actually very few things I'm not interested in. 'Cept cars. Big round of boos for cars.

Music, Movies, and Books

Hm. Skunk Anansie, Gogol Bordello, sweaty dirty punks in trashy industrial sites and my own voice in the shower. I like books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed 'n jumped the Svolvær goat. Dunno if that passes for being amazing, but it sure was fun (even though I landed on my face... or maybe because I did). I also went up on a 20k feet mountain and I met Santa Claus!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'll show you how to open soft drink bottles without breaking the seal. Very useful for smuggling booze to a festival! And I know a trick to get rid of the smell on your hands after chopping garlic.Always on the lookout for useless skills to acquire. Oh, if you know anything about HDR photography, come here and teach me.
