About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm loving the experience of getting to know different people from everywhere in the World and share with them my culture, my roots!

ABOUT ME

I'm from Portugal and I used to live in Oeiras, close to Lisbon, until 2012. I decided to change my life into a little bit more adventurous kind of life ;)
I'm a friendly guy, easy going and I, like most of the people in the World, love to have fun. I'm the kind of guy that likes to meet new friends, have interesting discussions about everything and anything... except politics ;) I love all the kind of sports and I'm always open to new challenges.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is too short so I try to make the most of it... but always with my feet on the ground ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm still new in CS because I haven't host or been hosted yet using CS... but I'm doing this for a quite time, just not by using Internet or a Website ;) Since I've been doing CS in friend's places so far and I love to make new friends, I asked myself, why shouldn't I try the power of the CS to find new friends and visit places where I've never been before? ;)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Even before I knew about CS I went to New York to a friends place with an extra room, then I went to Puerto Rico to a friends place with a guests room and I went to Toronto to visit a friend with a couch for me ;) Now I'm writing this while I'm in Algarve, South of Portugal in a nice twin beds room and I can only say that I'm loving this experience! =D

Interests

I like to spend my time with my friends having a good laugh. But I also enjoy my time alone when I'm going to new places or when I'm busy with my hobbies, such as Kitesurfing, driving on racing tracks, playing drums, guitar or playing games =P yup... I also like to play on my Playstation ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
I listen to almost everything, but my favorite kind of music is Rock (classics, hard rock, Pop Rock), also Grunge Rock, Heavy Metal, Pop, Techno, Soka, Dub-step (depends on the mood), old Disco and so many other things ;) as Classic Music! =D

Books... I'm sorry but I don't like to read... I guess I'm done with reading since I had to read all the engineering books at the University.

Movies!!! =D I LOVE to watch movies ;)
I love anything but lame movies... a movie can be romantic and funny! Like "There's Something About Mary" ;) But my favorite are definitely Action, Comedy, SkiFi and HORROR!!! =D Bwaaahahaha!!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most recently would be the fact of living in Saint Lucia since 2012, until who knows, which is an Island in the Caribbean, that has perfect conditions for Kite surfing and gave me the chance of meeting a lot of people!!!

The Island is beautiful and it will be a place that I will miss... a lot... forever!!! Every time that I go out far on the water kitesurfing I love the view, all the landscape that I see when I look back to the shore and it's even more beautiful during the sunset. It's definitely one of the most beautiful landscapes I've ever seen!

Teach, Learn, Share

If it wasn't CS the places for you to sleep would be Hostels or Hotels, where the prices can be exorbitant... so CS is the cheapest way to visit a city and the best way to meet local people that will advise you and will give you a better idea of the places to see in the city you're visiting.
My advise is, observe your host's habits, respect their schedule and routines, make them love you, become their friends and offer your place for them to stay if they want to visit your home town.
Remember this, you are not in a Hotel and your host is not your slave. Be grateful for having a friend sharing his place and a piece of his life with you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As I live inside a Resort right now I can't host anyone and I'll be moving to a new challenge in my life in a couple of months so I will be homeless for a while. But as soon as I settle down I will change my status to "Accepting Guests" again.

Countries I’ve Visited

Andorra, Canada, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Martinique, Netherlands, Puerto Rico, Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, United Kingdom, United States
