About Me

Greetings! I am a 23 year old traveller and I love this world we live in. My passion for knowing different places began early, when I was a child. I travelled abroad to study english and german when I was a teenager and these experiences brought up an even stronger desire to one day leave homeland and see more of the world, its different cultures, landscapes and realities. During my studies I saved money to do some backpacking and fulfilled my dream to see all the inhabited continents.

Recently I graduated from Law School and now I seek to explore even more. I am a lover of arts and music, and photography is one of my favourite activities. At the moment I'm using my time to acquire photography knowledge and practice and I plan to register my travels around the world for the rest of my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is an interesting tool which I first heard about some years ago, when I was planning my solo backpacking trip to Asia. I almost created my acount, but at the time I didn't have much experience with solo travelling and decide to leave it for a next time. Most of my next travels were with someone else's company and we simply ended up deciding for different types of accomodation.

Now I want to try Couchsurfing and have to the chance to know the locals in a more intimate way. Of course we meet diferent people along the road, but I guess it's a different experience when you share the same roof ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: 60's & 70's rock, Jimi Hendrix is a big favourite. Some nice electronic like Daft punk or Bonobo. Soul and jazz artists, Ray Charles, Nina Simone, Ella, Stevie Wonder. Reggae music is a favourite too. And brazilian music, of course!! Brazil's got some excellent musicians like Djavan, Caeteno Veloso, Seu Jorge, Criolo and the list goes on.

Movies: The Salt of the Earth, about photography. Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, an adventure film. A very nice comedy for me is the Big Lebowski. And I love the action in Yojimbo.

Books: Siddhartha, O Cortiço, The Posthumous Memoirs of Bras Cubas, Lord of the Rings.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A roadtrip with a friend through the mountains in Thailand. We were both riding scooters with our stuff on the back.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to share knowledge with people, being it through teaching or learning. I like to talk about my homeland and culture when I'm with foreigners and maybe i appreciate even more to hear what they have to say about their own land. I like languages and music - my opinion is that both are codes and i like to crack those. So I always enjoy getting to learn the language and showing some of the portuguese language.

Biology, history and geography are areas of my interest as well. And I'm proud to say that I was a good student of those subjects during school :) When I go to a place I am always curious to know more about local nature - fauna and flora and geography - and about the traditions and history of the people. I feel like life is short and there's a lot of places to go and people to meet, because of that I want to gather as much information and experiences as I can.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook! And I also play the guitar and sing and I played some gigs with a band and solo a couple of times (though my skills are a bit rusty lately). I think I have a could talk and would appreciate to shares ideas with new people. I can entertain and cook for you. Do you really need anything better than that? :D

I'm young but I believe I had quite a few experiences for my age (can't write all of those only in a Couchsurfing profile ;)). I would be more than pleased to share those as well!
