About Me

That kind of person who - in the same breath - discusses historical materialism and YouTube trends during a poolside picknick. No kidding. I absolutely love people. I also love coffee, books & films (mostly docs). I chose to work with film & anthropology. No regrets there :)

Currently in a work-study double life. Like Bruce and Batman, minus the money bit. No sweat.

"A purpose of human life, no matter who is controlling it, is to love whoever is around to be loved."
- Kurt Vonnegut

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hotels are the slaughterhouses where trips go to die.

People having people over just for the sake of it means we get to bump shoulders in this big and messy world. We may cross our paths very briefly and we may move along right away but we are transformed, even if only by a millimeter, by the simplicities of the few words we exchanged over a cup of coffee.

If it sounds like poetry that's because it is. For me, at least.

Music, Movies, and Books

Fav authors: Kurt, Albert, Fiodor, Charles, Jack. No particular order.

Some music I love: [...] Dope Lemon, Tame Impala, King Gizzard and the Wizard Lizzard, Mumford and Sons, Cigarettes After Sex, Kurt Vile, Jacob Montague [...]

Two awesome films: Me and You and Everyone We Know (dir. Miranda July, 2005) and Rocky Horror Picture Show (dir. Jim Sharman, 1975).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once I was thrown in jail for shooting a documentary about human rights violations (further info redacted). I left in one piece. If that isn't amazing, I don't know what is.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share some knowledge and tips about photography, filmmaking, and - if you're into that stuff - anthropology. I love practicing languages, so we can do some language-switching to keep things interesting :)

I'm interested to hear about the way you live and think about the world around you. I'll do the same if you want.

Reciprocity: best served with coffee (or wine).

What I Can Share with Hosts

Happy to help with household duties, food-making, or even just crazy personal projects :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Algeria, Argentina, Chile, France, Hungary, Kenya, Maldives, Mali, Netherlands, Pakistan, Portugal, Serbia, Spain, Tanzania, Turkey, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
