About Me

Hi! My name is Pedro, I was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil and I'm studying for my master's in physics on the University of Amsterdam. Feel free to drop me a message, write your compliments and/or suggestions, invite me to go out, and of course, let me know how I can help you with your trip arrangements.

I'm eager to find new surroundings to challenge myself in becoming more life-experienced! Broadening my world view via conversation and exploration is so very fun and meaningful. It always surprises me how people with other backgrounds can change my own point of view.

I'm not the most eccentric person you'll meet, but I'm interested in others, respectful, open-minded, and often in for spontaneous adventures! Whether it'd be going out, discovering the area, or having a good coversation and having some drinks, I'm in to it! :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe this website is great for people who likes to travel alone, like me. It helps us to meet locals and make the most out of our adventures. I am here too because I would like to help people in this same situation. I know it's not always easy to find friendly people when you are in a different place, specially in somewhere other than your home country.

As an expat, this is one of the platforms to expand my network and plan for unexpected travels, getaways and hangouts.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to discover new kinds of music, and have a very eclectic taste on it. I can vibe to whatever is playing in the background, be it rock, pop, techno, salsa or classical music!

I don't really watch a lot of films/series, but here are some of my favourites: interstellar, pulp fiction, 2001:a space odyssey, Schindler's list, ALL Studio Ghibli movies, the shining, shutter island, the theory of everything, avatar: the last airbender, breaking bad. I also enjoy a lot some of the MCU and star wars movies.

Some of my favorite books are: I robot, les miserables, the trial (Kafka), brave new world, Siddhartha (Hesse) and Kafka on the shore (Murakami). And I'm still waiting for the ending of game of thrones and the kingkiller chronicle :/

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Climbed the Pyramid of the Sun
- Got inside a nuclear reactor
- Swam with dolphins
- Spent some time alone with the Mona Lisa
- Went snorkeling in the pantanal rivers

Teach, Learn, Share

-I study physics, so love talking about science, the universe, and all the philosophy related to it;
-I'm always very interested about the history of the places where I visit;
-I can teach a bit of violin;
-There's probably no one who would like to learn Portuguese hahaha, but I can at least teach some words that, if you're planning on travelling to Brazil, will help you find the more open-hearted and friendly people out there :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

A beer, a coffee, stories, a good time, a few words in portuguese... pretty much anything xD
Also, in return for a stay and maybe even personal tours through the area, I'd gladly cook some of the dishes that I love!!!
