I have a year in Europe and Africa before heading back to California. There is much to be done!

ABOUT ME

I'm a graduate student in sociology at UC Berkeley in California and am in The Netherlands for the year for work and research. I'll be traveling to Africa several times over the course of the year, but when I'm not, I hope to be traveling all over Europe meeting fun, new people.

Interests

I love the outdoors, and am particularly partial to skiing, hiking, camping, and biking, preferably in different combinations. My interest in sociology also lends itself naturally to liking new place, new people, new histories, new perspectives. I love design, almost in any form...I think Gaudi is brilliant and want to live in a house built in his style...I've never really understood the appeal of Jackson Pollack, but I'm willing to be convinced. I'm an amateur cook and am not afraid to create disasters in the kitchen. Hopefully, this tack will prove beneficial to my cooking skills down the road. Back in the day, I was into all kinds of arts and could cast glorious spaceships out of clay. These days, my artistic ambitions are somewhat tempered, but I still love them all. Photography and music more or less constitute my two creative outlets. Combine them with my other interests - taking pictures and belting opera while skiing down a mountain - and I'm a happy man.
