About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Walk every corner of this Earth.

ABOUT ME

I'm a dude. That's pretty much it. I like stuff. A lot of things actually. I like people. I moved to a new city for a new job.

Still, if I had to put a small effort describing myself I'd say I'm a happy dude at the moment. Things don't always go well, but hey, at least we're all alive and trying, right?

I do love many things, from: sports, mainly football or soccer, the one where you use your feet, but I also like to run, to play volley, squash, tennis, basketball (I think you get it); music, I love heavy metal (all sorts of subgenres, mostly progressive), rock (all sorts of subgenres, mostly post-rock and alternative), but then I like to have fun with all kinds of music whenever i go out, as long as the company is good, music just makes things better. I also been learning how to play the guitar for a while and rediscovered my passion for music.

I LOVE photography. I love details and manipulating colours and tones. I'm not a selfies' person, I do like to register what I see, not exactly to spend time in front of a mirror. I LOVE drawing. I just do it as a hobby but it's relaxing and makes some people happy. I do have a page if you're curious about it:

https://mestrealmeida.com

I LOVE to talk. I'm very curious and love to share opinions and points of view. Wine and beer are a great company for these long conversations, but a glass of water is enough.

I do love many more things, but you can find that out if you want. :D

PHILOSOPHY

I'm an honest person, I'm quite tolerant and I'm usually happy. I don't expect much from people, but I try to give them my best. I forgive but I don't forget.

In any case, just sing and things will be a bit better. :D Music can cure almost everything, except the flu, better have some citrus and antibiotics if necessary.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been hanging around since October (2012) or whatsoever and I never actually practised the couchsurfing concept in its true sense of staying at somebody's place or hosting, but I like to receive people and show them my town, to take them to the most typical places.

It's an evolving process, so in the future things might be different.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A bunch of meetings in Portugal (Porto and Aveiro) and one in Italy (Rome yeahhh) with people from (untill now):

Russia; Spain; Mexico; Italy; France; Argentina; Brazil; Germany; Poland; Lithuania; Estonia; Vietnam; Israel; Netherlands.

Interests

I love music, I love my guitar, I love to make drawings, I love football, I love beer, I love hanging out at night, I love travelling, I love the sun and I love having stupid conversations about nothing.

Music, Movies, and Books

Usually I watch horror movies, comedy tv-shows, I listen to (mainly) Metal (in its many variations).

Probably my favourite book, and I've read it very recently, is 1984. A brilliant writing and description of society. A mandatory read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

*My first experience with a CS kind of ended up at 4 am, in a beach at Esposende (Porto), the weather was madly cold (a lot of wind) and the sea violent like hell, so why not go into the water only in our underwear? That's what kept me thinking if every encounter with a CS was supposed to be so crazy. Simply amazing. :D

*Spending a week in Rome with the most amazing human being ever. Actually it was the first time I travelled abroad by myself and definitely unforgettable. Better only if it lasted more time.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you guitar 1.0.1. If you ever wanted to learn how to start to play the guitar, I can teach you that.

I can teach you photography 1.0.1. If you ever wondered how a DSLR machine works and what do all those things mean, I can provide you the basic info as well.

I can't really teach you how to draw, but I can tell you where you should begin if you want to improve.

I can share with you what happens within my living circle and maybe you'll find it interesting or not. Try it first. :D
