About Me

Hi everyone, I'm Pierre. I live in Carcassonne in southern France where I share a house with two other guys and a dog.
I like travelling as often as I can. My latest long journeys were New Zealand and Australia for about a year each on a WHV, so you can be pretty confident I won't judge you if you end up here gross with stinky feet, exhausted af, or even soaking wet and crying because your journey was 24 hours longer than expected... I'll try to make you feel at home as much as I can. Having returned to my home country sometimes feels pretty hard and I always want to hit the road, for many reasons, everyday comes with its brand new lot of reasons. And each day away makes you miss home in miscellaneous ways! Sounds a bit schizophrenic doesn't it?! :-)
Besides, I'm a pretty nice guy with a good sense of humour who places laughter to the top. I'm definitely a bit nuts though!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on here because I think it's an amazing way to travel while you're stuck at home by having guests from everywhere. They'll bring you the exoticism you're looking for and their part of sunshine from afar. All you have to do in return is greet them properly and guide them through your city. Just basic exchange. And when you're the one who travels, just reverse the whole process. And there you are, a non profit exchange between individuals. But now Airbnb has shown up, it's a little bit compromised, unfortunately.

Interests

good food, partying, music, films/series, sometimes a good book, traveling, mechanics, meeting people, being in love, languages, cooking, driving, playing guitar, ride my bike with my dog, chill out on the grass on a sunny day, learn new things, laugh.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm pretty open minded with music though I'm not a big fan of rap/hip hop (you're welcome to make me change my mind), and all the shitty music full of autotune they make today (but can it be called music?). I'm OK with rock, techno, trance and other electronic music, electro swing etc... Just to name a few: Caravan Palace, Pink Floyd, Pink Martini, Gotan Project, La Yegros, The Beatles, Queen, Parov Stellar, Electralane, Aretha Franklin... Or any other good stuff you might suggest.

Teach, Learn, Share

There is so much we can share, but I'll definitely teach you how to make French crêpes and how to flip them. I can also teach you how to fix things on your car, or how to drive a manual transmission if you din't know already. I can also try to figure out with you how to travel France on a budget as hostels are almost inexistant. I wish you could teach me a bit of your language, give me tips from your own country if I want to travel there, tell me good books to read or teach me drawing techniques. As for what we can share, let's start with a good meal, a glass of wine and good music.
