About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel as much as possible, learn about other cultures, and meet some amazing people.

ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in downtown Toronto but have lived in Montreal for the past 5 years. I'm an organic farmer who loves to work with others in order to receive and share knowledge. For the first 6 years of my working life I was a chef at several restaurants in Toronto and Montreal, but for the past 4 years I have changed my focus to organic agriculture and education. I have experience working on farms dealing with bees, dairy cattle, sturgeon (fish), and various forms of intensive organic vegetable farming. For the past 3 years my primary work involved being a coordinator in an urban organic greenhouse in Montreal. Here I organized and hosted workshops, worked with hundreds of volunteers, and supervised interns who received university credit. My specialty is in intensive worm farming (for indoor composting) and the production of sprouts and micro-greens for sale to local grocery stores and restaurants.

I have an undergraduate degree in environmental sciences, with additional focus in the fields of Canadian politics and aboriginal studies, and human health and nutrition.

My other hobbies include building push road bikes and going on long biking trips, hiking, camping, watching movies, reading, and heaps more.

I'm pretty tame and laid back, but I do like hitting the town from time to time.

I absolutely love to travel and take off whenever the opportunity presents itself. I love couch surfing as it provides an opportunity to learn more about the local norms and gives me a chance to meet some amazing people from all over the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet locals and get the best travel experience. Couch surfing or staying with locals by other means has provided me with some incredible experiences I wouldn't possibly have been able to have when just crashing in a hostel. Even having someone take the time to go out for a drink can make a huge difference in the travel experience.

Skydived 15000ft in New Zealand. And walked to the bottom of the second largest canyon in the world... then walked back up.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm clean, quiet, respectful, and always up for anything. I love to cook and will likely show up with various local craft beers to test out.
