About Me

I'm a student that loves to travel... blabla... you know... I like to hear other peoples stories. Making music. Eating. I like food. So If you are planning on cooking a dish that is well known where you are from, then that would be very highly thought of... gnagna! I know some fun things to do in the city and where you could go outside the city as well. I am not as good as a local, but I have been here quite a few times before. So I am currently doing my fieldwork project in Tbilisi, and I am intending to get to know a lot of taxi drivers throughout the period, so if you want a city tour to cool locations, maybe we can arrange something that is not that pricy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I was volunteering on a farm in Georgia I witnessed that many people could be accommodated on a relatively small space, and make themselves more useful then is regularly the case in live. And this sharing also was an environment wherein people shared their know-how and ideas. I just thought that I had made so much inefficient use of space, time and resources all this time. So the slightest thing I can at least try is couchsurfing. I'M LIVING IN TBILISI, GEORGIA FOR THE NEXT FEW MONTHS, SO IF YOU NEED A PLACE, I HAVE A COUCH.

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently I really dig the Penguin Cafe Orchestra, Charles Mingus, Thelonious Monk, Fela Kuti, Georgian folk vocal harmonies. Not really into electronic music. The constant has been blues. Also into making music.

I love 'Vertigo' by hitchcock and 'Ducksoup' by the Marx Brothers. My favorite new movie is Leviathan by Andrej Zvyagintsev.

My favorite book is the autobiography “Povest o Zhizni” (“Story of a Life”) by Konstantin Paustovsky, of which I only read parts because in Dutch it has been published in separate volumes and I am a lazy reader -although I love doing it when I am at it-

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once, when I was a shy 17 year old I organized my own festival. Although back then a lot of people helped me out, and yet it sticks as something wondrous.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm interested in Eastern European history, mostly Russian and Georgian. I wanna jam it with you, we could busk some tunes together if you can play a guitar or a cajon. I want to IMPROVE MY RUSSIAN, so if you are a native speaker then chatting will help me ;) Also I will love it when you cook for me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I guess I could show you some things in town. Don't count on me having a lot of time though. If there is food then I can share some.
