ABOUT ME
I was born in Nebraska and raised in a small wheat town in Washington State where the nearest stoplight is half an hour away. Nowadays, I'm trying to find my way around the world and learn as much outside of school as possible. I love trying new things, especially foods. I will eat anything (usually to my detriment) except for candied yams. I hate candied yams.
PHILOSOPHY
There are two types of people in this world: those who think there are two types of people in this world and everyone else.

Music, Movies, and Books
I try my best to keep my palate broad, but there are a lot of options these days. Latest Spotify glance: Allman Brothers, Angel Haze, As I Lay Dying, Bach, Bassnectar, Billy Joel, Boy Hits Car, Common, C.W. McCall, City and Colour, Dave Van Ronk, Deftones, Dire Straits, Elton John, Eric Church, Eric Clapton, Frank Sinatra, Flobots, Foxy Shazam, Glitch Mob, Hank Williams, Hoodie Allen, Jaz Z, Jimmy Eat World, Johnny Cash, lostprophets, Michael Buble, Michael Jackson, Nickel Creek, Noah and the Whale, Perry Como, Queen, Rage Against the Machine, Ramones, Rush, Static X, Silent Comedy, Sufjan Stevens, Talib Kweli, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Townes Van Zandt, Tribe Called Quest, Who, Willie Nelson, Zac Brown Band. Recent shows: Breaking Bad, True Detective, and Game of Thrones. Movie-wise, I would rate highly Godfather, Shawshank Redemption, Gladiator, Dark Knight, 12 Angry Men, Star Wars, Casablanca, It’s a Wonderful Life, Goodfellas, and Alien (yes, Alien). Books: 1984, A Clockwork Orange, Sound and the Fury, Count of Monte Cristo, Slaughterhouse-Five, Fahrenheit 451, Catch 22, A Brave New World, Catcher in the Rye, On Liberty, and The Republic (pretty bland).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hmm...probably running up the Great Wall.
Teach, Learn, Share
“The danger of education . . . is that it so easily confuses means with ends. Worse than that, it quite easily forgets both and devotes itself merely to the mass production of uneducated graduates—people literally unfit for anything except to take part in an elaborate and completely artificial charade which they and their contemporaries have conspired to call 'life.'" -Thomas Merton
