Hello,
My name is Pelle Bronkhorst and I'm a twenty-year old living in Utrecht, the most central city of the Netherlands. As of it right now I'm studying governance at the university of Utrecht.

I love everything about travelling. Most of all I like that it allows me to leave everything which you usually have to do behind and just go with the flow of where ever I'm going. Travelling just allows me to get into this different mindset and really embrace life and all the good things that come with it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The main reason for me is because I think meeting other people from other countries is very valuable. I have been on vacation to some countries previously but when going there I realized that I didn't really get in touch with local people. Couchsurfing is a great opportunity for doing that. Also, it's just so interesting to hear stories about all the places other couchsurfers have travelled to, which inspire me to travel myself a great deal.

Interests

In my leisure time I like to play sports. I play football thrice a week and I also play draughts (the game you play on the other side of the chess board.) Also, I love to run and I try to cycle as much as possible in the weekends. Furthermore I really like music. I listen to all kinds of music and play the piano myself.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I like all kinds of music I can't really narrow my taste down to one single genre but some examples are: Linkin park, Noisecontrollers, Da Tweekaz, Zara Larsson and Yellow Claw. I do have a thing for Hardstyle because good hardstyle songs really make me want to get up and jump around the room while at the same time I could easily fall asleep to the song too, I know it sounds weird but it's true. Also, the later it gets the more emotional the songs I listen to are.
Books: reading has always been a hobby of me. Some of my all time favourites are the lord of the rings, books from Dan Brown and a whole lot of Dutch books you probably never heard about ;)
Movies: I'll enjoy almost every movie when visiting the cinema. At home I usually watch horror and thriller movies. However, I must admitt I'm not really a movie guy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been on a two week trip to Russia for a project I was doing on the Soviet-Union in the Second World War. It was really amazing to see all Soviet influences still there in modern day Russia. For someone interested in history Russia is one of the most amazing countries to visit. Very few countries have made less of an impact the world throughout the years. I went to Sint-Petersburg and Moscow with an amazing group of people and we had a wonderful time in Russia.
