CURRENT MISSION
Host more and travel more
ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Per-Ivar, or you can call me Pelle if you want. Two things I love to do are travelling and meeting new people, so couch surfing is perfect for me.
PHILOSOPHY
People are all right until otherwise proved.
Be who you are, but also let other people be who they are.
Travelling is useless unless you want to learn about the world, learn about others and learn about yourself.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love hosting people and showing them around in the city. Sometimes i think that I would rather like to be a tour guide than a teacher. I know what kind of guests I really appreciate - those who are helpful, open-minded, polite and want to get to know me - and that's the kind of guest I want to be myself too.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My experiences both as a host and a guest are exclusively positive!
Interests
I love people - that's why I work with people.
Mostly i like visiting historically interesting sites, like castles, ruins or battlefields, to view beautiful scenery and to experience the local cuisine.
More specific interests include jazz music (clubs, concerts and festivals) , football (soccer) matches, trains, trams and metros (I love visiting transportation museums). Lately also my interest of art and architecture has been growing.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Not the typical Hollywood movies
Music: Mostly jazz, but I can listen to all genres, as long as the music appeals to me.
Books: I love books! I have to, being a teacher in Norwegian and English.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Taking a drive with two friends in the middle of the night around Senja, a beautiful island close to where I grew up.
The calm atmosphere, the animals, the light from the midnight sun painting the sky and the mountains in all kinds of colours - everything was perfect.
Teach, Learn, Share
It is important to talk about any subject in a respectful manner, because even if we don't agree about everything, we can understand each other, respect each other and still be friends.
I also believe that you should always listen to what the other part has to say, because even if there are differences both will learn from each other by trying to see things from the other one's point of view. That's what openmindedness is all about.
