Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had very limited experience CouchSurfing, but did a little in Europe while traveling with my brother in Summer 2009! Everyone I met was very interesting and open-minded :) That comes with the territory, I think. All of my friends say great things about the people they also met on CS, so I'm looking forward to making some CS memories now that I'm in South America for a while...

Interests

I love to read books and watch films of many different genres, and I really like foreign films. I enjoy jogging and doing yoga - they keep me sane and healthy :) I love to hang out with friends and to meet new ones. With friends, I typically enjoy talking over some good food and wine, hanging out at the park or the beach, doing yoga, exploring a new city, shopping etc. I'm also very interested in holistic nutrition, photography, fashion and art!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - Life is Beautiful, Casablanca, Midnight in Paris, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, + many more. I do also enjoy funny, light-hearted movies :) Going to the theatre is always fun!

Music -Always on my iPod: Lykke Li, Florence + the Machine, Brazzaville, Adele, Billie Holiday, Bob Marley, Coldplay, Norah Jones, Kanye, Rihanna, Lily Allen...currently getting into Brazilian music, which I love! Joao Gilberto, Tom Jobim, Caetano Veloso, Ceu...need more suggestions too!

Books - I like fiction, Buddhism, philosophy - currently finishing The Hunger Games & Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, starting The Alchemist, rereading Leadership & Self-Deception...I'm sure there are others around. Obviously I'm insane when it comes to reading. Focus would be great, but I want to read them all right now!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I swam at night in the bioluminescent bay off the coast of Puerto Rico. It was amaaazing! As if the stars fell into the water and shone brighter as I swam through them.

Paris at night is always magical. I've only been a few times but it stands out! I love Paris :)

Iguacu Falls in Brazil and in Argentina was so powerful and breathtaking. I'd LOVE to return while I'm in SA.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know how to do Surya Namaskara (yoga - sun salutations) & enjoy doing it every morning! I have a background in Languages & Business. I'm from New Mexico, a beautiful state rich in history & culture. Love to share NM with everyone!
