ABOUT US

We are a family of three at the moment. Christy is a massage therapist who currently practices craniosacral therapy in her growing business called BodyAlign. She is passionate about helping people discover the wisdom their bodies have for them and the importance of staying present to hear that wisdom and apply it to their lives. Andrew is passionate about helping people find fun in their lives. He is our go to hype man and once he figures out how to make his talents lucrative watch out world! Alex is one and a half. Right now he is very passionate about mommy’s milk, cars or anything with wheels really, and big block singsong.

PHILOSOPHY

Question everything.

When 100,000,000 believe it's true, that doesn't mean it has to be for you.
When you know they won't understand, tell them anyway.
When you're afraid that telling them the truth will hurt them, do it anyway.

The truth is informative, lies are deceitful.

You're important.
You should be the leading actor in the story of your life.
The word selfish doesn't have to be a bad word.

Pay attention to what your life is telling you.
Pay attention to what your body is telling you.
Pay attention to your thoughts, because they become your reality.

Talk about your beliefs, but don't try to make believers.
Make every action an act of love, not fear.
Know yourself.

If you don't agree, don't participate.
If you do agree, get involved.

If you want love, be loving.
If you want peace, be peaceful.
If you want a better world, make a better you.

Be what you are. If you're different, we need you. If you're the same as everyone else, we need you too. You are the way you are for a reason. There is an intricate balance to the universe and it's such a delicate dance of perfection. There's no way you can screw it up. But you have a choice: to resist what is, or kick back and enjoy the ride!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We're on Couchsurfing because we love to meet new people, and helping fellow travelers just feels right! While we keep a wide circle of friends, there is always a craving for new ideas. And nothing brings new ideas better than new friends!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We host surfers as much as we can when we're at home and when we're traveling we utilize the couchsurfing hosts as much as possible. We've also gone to a few meet ups and we threw out an open invite to the Columbus couchsurfers for one of our house parties - definitely met some cool people! Couchsurfers are the best kind of people :-)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've crashed a few times, hosted a few times. Our favorite thus far was Dave and Chris in France. They picked us up at the train station, did our laundry for us, had guest slippers, made us a delicious meal and taught us some french! You guys rock! Keep hosting like champions!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I know it’s cliche but we made a human from fucking. That’s still the most amazing thing ever, even if it happens all the time.

If you're ever near Big Sur in California, look up the Esalen Institute and reserve a spot night bathing. We'd spent all day camping in the Redwood forests and were t-i-r-e-d. A friend tipped us off about the midnight bathing at Esalen, and as luck would have it, they still had a few spots left for that night. So at midnight, we slipped away from camp and drove down the coast to the institute. There were about 20 of us total that night, and after a quick briefing, most of us stripped naked and climbed into the hot spring tubs situated right on the coast. 50 feet below us, the waves of the Pacific crashed against the rocks; and above us, the sky was filled with more stars than we had ever seen before. Quiet talking was allowed, but the entire group was taken in silence by the beauty and calm of the environment. We bathed from 1 to 3 AM, then dressed and headed out. The serenity gained that night still echoes within us.
