About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Becoming Korean ... lol Currently lving in Korean and hoping to immerse myself in its culture

ABOUT ME

I love life! I want to travel the world and see all that is on offer. I recently graduated from a B. Social Science which I celebrated by travelling to the Middle East with a close friend. It was a wonderful and challenging experience.
Now living in Seoul to teach English. Working in a wonderful school with 3-9 year old children.
I have grown up in a family of 5 that has collected many extras as time has gone on.
umm... that's all I think, ask more and I will tell lol

PHILOSOPHY

well.. this is more in depth then I was bargaining for .. but I suppose my favorite philosophy it that offered by Mother Teresa "We ourselves feel that what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean. But the ocean would be less because of that missing drop". I guess that's how I live my life always trying to do that little bit because without it nothing would ever be achieved.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Tried Couch surfing out on my holiday to the Middle East with a Turkish family! AND LOVED IT! In fact it was the best part of my holiday and I now feel like I have a second family.
Now in Seoul Im happy to host in my one bedroom apartment and I'd love to meet for coffee.
Then when back in Australia I would love to start hosting. I think this is a fantastic project that brings people together and takes back ownership of independent traveling!

Music, Movies, and Books

EVERYONE SHOULD READ "Bridge to Holy Cross" by Paulina Simmons BEST EVER!!!! Love all of her books and Bryce Courtney and Roald Dahl and Classics.

Movies: anything with depth. But I must admit I have enjoyed the old girly flick and LOVE the comic blockbuster.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Middle East was an amazing eye-opener. The complete opposite of all that is known to me. It prepared me for travelling to Seoul and broadened my mind in ways I can't describe. It taught me to ignore the fear that is promoted in our media and experience things for yourself.
I think the most amazing part was nursing the baby of a woman who wore a burka. Its amazing how love can overcome all barriers.

Teach, Learn, Share

ummm...
1. If an Australian asks you "How you going?" It means how are you
2. When you eat Vegemite, you only want to spread a little bit. Too much and it's yucky lol

I want to learn about other ways of life and their cultural practices. It helps me to understand myself more and come to appreciate that different doesnt mean worse it just means different.
