About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Learn Chinese - this isn't going very well
ABOUT ME
Always interested in people, maybe even a bit of a nosey parker. Easily entertained and try to be entertaining back. Am from England but have spent most of my adult life either working or travelling abroad, mainly Asia. Where has the time gone?! I've lived in Beijing, China for just over a year now and am enjoying it (although sometimes I get a little flumoxed by cultural differences, it's all a good learning experience)!
PHILOSOPHY
Gahhh, perhaps I should google 'Oscar Wilde quotes' and put something witty but I'm constantly bewildered by life and the overflow of information on offer. Ultimately, most of us know nothing. So just try to be nice to others and don't worry about whether you're good enough or doing things right all the time.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Not loads as I'm not that organised. I'm very up for spreading the CS love - in a non physical sense of course!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Bits and bobs over the years. I have stayed at a few peoples' places now and have been shown great hospitality. I've also met up with people in various places - whether just to hang out or show them round a little.
Interests
I'm mostly interested in other people, some may call it nosey but it's a healthy interest I promise.
Try to be active and do 'outdoorsy' stuff. Since coming to China I've run in 4 marathons (including the Pyongyang marathon in North Korea) and have signed up for more.
Enjoy dancing to live music, laughing at live comedy, following locals on bicycles, drinking tea anywhere.
I'm interested in the idea of learning chess, then I could play with old men in parks.

Music, Movies, and Books
I always forget the names.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hmmm I think seeing evidence of the capability of the human mind and body leaves me more awestruck than something like witnessing the sunrise.
Teach, Learn, Share

What I Can Share with Hosts
Always happy to talk about my personal experiences - share stories and travelling advice. I'm a terrible cook, but will always bring tea along and make cups for all. I enjoy cultural exchange.
