About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Seeking adventure and whimsy, wherever I may find it

ABOUT ME

I am a fun, spontaneous, and outgoing woman. I am an Italian-American, raised in NY. I want to be "on the go" most of the time, and put a lot of energy into meeting and connecting with new people. Being social and seeking opportunities to try new things or explore new places defines my life outside of work.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in community; people can create happiness for themselves while being thoughtful and helpful to others. Connecting with people is important, family and friends are a significant priority. My professional and personal life are built on the hope that I can have a positive impact on others, and enjoy positive relationships. I am all about experiencing the present, being aware of what can/will make me and those around me happy right now.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment I am interested in couchsurfing as a traveler. I plan to host in the future, when my living situation is more conducive to doing so.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I chose to explore couchsurfing after meeting a few interesting couchsurfers around Seattle. I found they shared a sense of community that I identify with, and saw how well-rounded their travel experiences had become through couchsurfing.

Interests

Music - listening and playing, food and drink - cooking/brewing and eating/drinking, sports -especially american football, reading, movies, crocheting and generally being artsy and crafty, nightlife, day trips, urban hikes, outdoor leisure, board games

Music, Movies, and Books

I have very diverse tast in music - lately I'm enjoying a lot of folk and bluegrass, but I love indie rock, blues, jazz, americana... My all time favorite are The Beatles. I love indie movies with great soundtracks, comedies, and bad 80's rom-com's. I read lots of memoirs and biographies, books about musicians, and historical fiction. I'm making my way through some classics, recently. I love bad TV - especially reality TV - because it's a nice break from the intensity of my life as a crisis therapist.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Yesterday I fed both a bison and a yak. I was at a game farm that you can drive through, and the animals put their giant heads in the car window so you can feed them...

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to learn to cook more, and to play music better. I would also love to meet people who could introduce me to some outdoorsy activities. I can teach others to knit or crochet... Other than that I don't have any special talents. I'm not sure how my therapist skill set can lend to teaching others...maybe in a mentor kind of way.
