About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learn from people and their cultures

ABOUT ME

Me in a nutshell: Husband (hopefully the best for my wife) and soon to be father :). Besides that, economist interested in poverty reduction and inclusive economic reforms. Salsa dancer, soccer fan and traveler. Feel the happiest when Im in the developing world.

I LOVE to travel, meet people from different cultures and countries and learn from them. I feel the need to be constantly traveling. I cant stay in the same place for longer than 3 months. Luckily, I can combine these needs with my work and family. We are a peruvian-polish couple who love to be moving from one side to other. I work for an international NGO based in Peru that analyzes the informal economy of developing countries across South America and Africa. We are about to start working in Nigeria and India. I am looking forward to start traveling there and getting to know the people living in their slums. Just recently, I came back to Peru after spending two years in the States where I completed a master´s degree in International Development. My class was very international. The good news is that I did new friends from over 35 nationalities. The bad news will be for my wallet, because I want to visit them all in their countries. Im passionate about development, especially on topics such Poverty alleviation and Inequality. If you have any thoughts on these, I would love to listen to them.Parallel to this, I LOVE dancing, especially afrocuban and caribbean dances. I do enjoy a lot dancing cuban salsa and rumba, as well as bachata. The last two years I attended cuban salsa congresses in San Francisco, Cancun and Slovakia. They were awesome!!! Again I met new friends from all over the world. Im sure we will meet again in future congresses. This year Im also planning to go to Croatia and Cuban for some more salsa dancing classes.

Some other activities I enjoy are: spending days on the beach, watching and playing soccer, trekking, rafting or any adventure sport that makes me feel and adrenaline rush.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Sharing most of my time with the surfers who visit my place. Offering them the experience at entering into a peruvian family. Talking about couchsurfing in every part of the word, etc.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I can officially say that Im an old member. I have been using this wonderful page for more than five years. During this time, I estimate I have surfed more than 15 couches and host more than 35 couchsurfers. I have also met many more, let say other 50 members for coffee or a drink. All these experiences were rewarding!!!. This is an excellent idea!!! In my opinion, when someone is traveling, there is nothing better than being introduced to a place by a local. Couchsurfers point you out in the right direction.

My wife and future daughter. Then, dancing (especially cuban salsa and bachata), sports that make me feel an adrenalin rush, Studying (Sometimes), Volunteering, soccer, tennis, table tennis .... and of course TRAVELING!!!
