I was a Graduate student at the University of Minnesota. Now I am living in Oldenburg, Germany with my wife as a post-doc researcher at the university here doing genetic research with apples.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My wife (Katie Howard) and I both have had positive experiences staying with people through couch surfing and, before we moved to Oldenburg, had been hosting guests regularly when we were living in St. Paul. We have hosted people from Canada, Latvia, Spain, The Netherlands, Brazil, Taiwan, and from around the US. I have stayed with several people in Spain and Germany through couch surfing, great way to meet folks and get to know an area.

Interests

I am passionate about apples. Also playing music (guitar, drums), gardening, working out, making mead, food preservation, history, anything to do with plants/horticulture, gluten free cooking (I am a celiac), and of course - traveling.
