ABOUT ME

I'm very deep into a PhD and ready to be done with it. I study energy and environmental issues but really I just enjoy making graphs. I aspire to be a data nerd and freelance data scientist. I can code and I can solder and I sometimes make little electronics projects with Arduinos. Like light-up LED rave belts. I like dancing to electronic music - there is a bit of a scene in Vancouver but very small. You will find me at the front under the speakers with my eyes closed and a blissed out expression on my face. I've been to Burning Man a few times, and so have many of my friends. I wear bright colours, especially socks.

In summer I like to go the beach and lie in the sun and read books, or maybe play frisbee, and I like bike rides and afternoon beers, and softball, and barbecues, outdoor concerts, campfires, and the sun. In winter I sometimes go skiing and I survive the endless rain by wearing rubber boots and jumping in puddles which keeps me happy.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hosted a ton of couchsurfers in the past in Vancouver and stayed with a bunch, but that's on a different profile which is no longer active. I haven't gone to the trouble of re-finding my friends with this profile, but I consider myself an active user of couchsurfing. I made a few lasting friendships this way and have had nothing but positive experiences.
