ABOUT ME

I consider myself to be a very adventurous and open-minded person. I love being active both physically and mentally. There is always something on my mind, sometimes it can be a real hindrance! I am a life-long learner who strives to live both purposefully and with sincerity. I tend to be pretty quiet (until I get a few drinks in me!) but I am friendly and feel comfortable discussing almost any subject. I'm especially fond of debates surrounding science, philosophy, nature, politics, culture and art.

PHILOSOPHY

I am still working on a good way to summarize my personal philosophy. It is pretty expansive. I believe that struggles and failure are a source of growth. Once you get over the fear of failure you can do anything. I am not afraid to put my faith in people. I have witnessed the kindness of complete strangers firsthand and I believe that we are all more similar than we are different.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't officially surfed with anyone on this site but I have friends and family all over the US that I have stayed with. I have met, befriended, and traveled with a number of people over the years and I hope to make even more friends in the future!

Centres d'intérêt

I love nature and the outdoors. Wildlife is a major fascination of mine. I am really into games of all sorts. Card games, video games, board games, puzzles, etc. all captivate me and when I am playing, I am totally focused on the task at hand. I enjoy playing sports though I do not like watching them very much. I love to read; mostly adventure novels or auto-biographies. I love to cook and I am pretty proficient at it! Soups and stews are my specialty! I am really into the sciences, languages and I love to learn. I enjoy good conversation and meeting new people with different perspectives than mine. I am not a very religious man but I am very philosophical and have great respect for the personal philosophies of others. Lastly, I am a big kid and I still love cartoons, comics and anime.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Geez I hate these kinds of questions. I have SO many favorites. I refuse to answer movies. Really I love SO many movies, even some bad ones, for SO many different reasons that it is impossible for me to catalog those thoughts.

Musis: Hip-hop, EDM, house, witch house, cultural folk, classical, bluegrass, some pop, etc. Depends on my mood mostly.

Books: "Into the Wild"; "Into Thin Air"; "The Alchemist"; Harry Potter series, "Black Like Me"; "Treasure Island"; "Animal, Vegetable, Miracle"; A Song of Ice and Fire; "The Hunger Games" series.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I have been to 5/7 continents and counting. I still have South America, Africa, and Antarctica left to visit. Hopefully I will be knocking off Africa and South America in 2016.
