Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To see the world and make my brain a little bigger and avoid working at a conventional job!
ABOUT ME
I am a mix of the bourgeois (home owner) and the bohemian (fiction writer, though as yet largely undiscovered by the world!).
My mother passed on the travel gene to me. I have traveled a lot, mainly in Europe, though with jaunts to Southeast Asia, India, and the Middle East.
Travel has taught me many lessons, like how I can live well for long periods of time with just the amount of stuff I can carry in a suitcase.
I am curious about people, their lives and opinions, and hopefully have that vitally important quality, a sense of humor.
PHILOSOPHY
To do my best always to be philosophical....
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I cannot offer a couch at present, since I am traveling.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
CouchSurfing is made to order for me! The more I travel, the less I am interested in seeing the usual tourist sights, and the more I am interested in meeting local people and getting to know them. I've had the best experiences while surfing, ones I cannot imagine having by any other means.
Einstein said the most important thing we all have to decide is whether the world is a friendly place or not, and CS makes it definitely seem like a place full of friends!
Interests
I like the arts (theatre, music, painting, books), history, languages, conversation, couples dancing, making and keeping friends. Oh, and parks. Whenever I visit a city, I first go to the parks.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I finished my first novel -- it took me something like 15 years!
And I've managed never to own a car, unusual for an American.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am good at editing people's writing and (so friends tell me) helping them look at things positively.
