About Me

CURRENT MISSION
Starting on my own..and is going to be spectacular!^^

ABOUT ME
Well, I usually don’t like to talk about me, maybe because I am still figuring myself out, ;) However I can tell you a few things..I like to think I am spontaneous, adventurous and very friendly but also shy and quite sensitive. I like Ana Blandiana and Adrian Păunescu’s poems, field flowers in spring and fire flies in summer nights, baked chestnuts bought at a street corner and stories told by the fireplace in cold snowy winters. I can fall into nostalgia so easily listening to Portuguese lyrics and songs or throw a party all night long on Russian music. Drawing and fairy tales make me forget I am going to turn 34 soon. Therefore enjoying my second, adult childhood. So no pre-cooked ideas and no long-term plans, just trying to capture the moment and do whatever sparkles my heart.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I fancy the idea of travelling with no specific destination in mind and hanging out with people I barely met because I believe the beauty of things lies in spontaneity, unpredictable and simplicity. I haven’t had the chance to host yet I’ve surfed many couches all over Europe. I believe Couchsurfing is about making connections, sharing stories, discovering other places and enjoying every bit of all this.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Crazy, wonderful, incredible, amazing, unconventional, tender, human- I had some pretty interesting Couchsurfing experiences, definitely worth-telling about at a bottle of beer or whatever puts you in the mode for adventure stories.
One of my favorites: Glasgow, UK- September 2009

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelling on my own to Estonia’s islands last summer was a hell of a trip that I didn’t actually plan at all, well a bit..he-he and it came out surprisingly beautiful. I went by bus on the biggest island of Estonia –Saaremaa- and by ferry, I reached Ruhnu, the smallest of all Estonia’s islands, very close to Latvia main land. Hitchhiking my way around Saaremaa, from one village to another as well as walking in forest covered areas – where very unlikely to meet somebody but with strong probability of walking into a confused elk or a furious bison- was something I have never done before. I learnt that not planning can be one of the most wonderful things ever and people you didn’t know 5 minutes ago can become your true friends. Harilaid was my reward at the end of the road. Not final though ;) More travelling is yet to come!

Hitchhiking from Brussels to Paris in a cold winter night was pretty adventurous too.

Another amazing thing was travelling from Lima-Peru to Guayaquil- Ecuador for 38 hours with a local Peruvian bus company, which by the way, NOT RECOMMENDED, ha-ha-ha!
