About Me
E ngā manuhiri o te ao whānui, nau mai, piki mai, kake mai ki ōu mātou motu ataahua e takato ana ki runga i ngā ngaru a te Moana-nui-ā-Kiwa.
I explored Europe for 5 months back in 2014 and had loads of incredible people invite me into their space to show me their homes, their cities, their friends and their way of life.
I currently live and work in Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Wellington as a tour guide. I live with 3 others in a social Brooklyn flat about twenty minutes walk from the central city. We won't be able to host all the time unfortunately, but we may be able to meet you up in town to hang out!
In 2020 I'll be travelling to Latin America for a few months, so I am hoping to host travelers who are from or have been there, or perhaps anyone who might be able to help me learn some Spanish!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It is an honour to be a host as much as it is to be a guest. Reciprocity is a big thing in Aotearoa which is why I (unfortunately) feel it is important to write the following:
Our home is not simply a free roof to crash under for a night with Wi-Fi. We think exchange is a fundamental part of hosting - a dinner, a drink or a conversation is all it takes! We stopped using Couchsurfing for a while because we had too many people coming and showing little interest in interacting with us, who were very reluctant to even share their travel stories and experiences. We don't want strangers in our homes! Don't be a stranger! We have a lot to show you when it comes to the story of Aotearoa and the thriving underground scene here in Wellington.
We get that some people like to keep to themselves. We think you can find that in a hotel.
If English isn't your strength that's okay! Food, music and art are universally human ;)
Interests
I'm a bit creatively obsessed - my main vein is jewellery making! If you have any nice stones or pieces from afar, I'll happily trade them for some unique kiwiana pieces and materials!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spent two months at sea on an international research vessel as it drilled into an active submarine volcano FOR SCIENCE. Yes that actually happened, and it's a hell of a yarn.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a tour guide at the national museum and an Ecosanctuary so I can spin a yarn or two about our natural and social history. I'm also conversationally fluent in Te Reo Māori, so I can teach you a phrase or two!
Our flat has a wide network of musos so we often go out to local gigs which w e'd probably pull you along to!
