About Me
Hello! My name is Antje, I`m a biologist and I work as a conservationist in Brandenburg (Germany). My speciality are endangered wild plants but I`m familiar with wild animals, floodplain ecology and environmental history too :-). I live with my husband and three children in a small flat in Berlin. So I can offer you a place to stay only sporadically when they are on vacation. Despite this I can give you a lot of information about Berlin, its surrounding areas, its history and things worth to see. Feel free to contact me for help and useful informations!
My philosophy: The heart beats on the left side!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Positive!!! 3 persons stayed 2 nights at a wood camp near Edinburgh (Scotland)! And I was hosted by very friendly people in Germany, Ireland and at three different places in the USA! Myself I hosted travellers from Russia, Ukraine, France, Czech Republic, India, all very nice, open minded people too!
BUT - when you take part in couchsurfing, please respond to someone`s request, even if you have to say "No"! It`s a matter of politeness and makes it much easier for travellers to plan a trip. And don`t forget to give references!
Interests
I love nature and wilderness but I`m also interested in history, politics, art, music, gardening, agriculture... Despite that I like to play the guitar, to sing and I play volleyball in a small team.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
As a student I spent nearly three months at Kamchatka and the Commander Islands (Russia) in the Bering Sea, studying the behaviour of polar foxes. THAT was a real ADVENTURE and I dream of a return to Kamchatka and this remote world some day!!!!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a coordinator of the "foodsharing" movement in our district (volunteers save otherwise wasted food from groceries, bakeries, events... and share it with people who need it). It's very popular in Berlin with over 10.000 foodsavers. Do you want to know more? I can tell and show you :-). Here you can take a look for yourself: https://foodsharing.de/.
