À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

I would like to visit the great city of Rome. My dream is to go there and have a week of art - to visit museums, art galleries and maybe to try drawing myself if there is time :)

ABOUT ME

My name is Petar and I come from Bulgaria. I am 21 years old and I am currently living in Padua, Italy. By having lived 18 years of my life in Bulgaria I gained a lot and I am not regretting anything about my moments there. I grew as a curious and calm person although I had done a lot of wild things.
Now, in Italy I got the second chance of my life. Having failed in a way in my education in Bulgaria, now I use every opportunity to improve my knowledge. When I came to Italy I had to start high school two years back although I was to do my final year in my hometown. Two years I studied things which I had ignored once and understood that some things in life are necessary to know no matter what you think.
Now I am pursuing my greatest dream - to become a car designer.
I remember very well when I was little how much paper I used just trying to sketch a good looking car ( I am still trying! ). Cars are really one of my greatest passions. The road, the roaring engine, the nice looking front and back of the car, the rising sun and the hot chick near me - that's what I call a nice place to be!
Other thing I enjoy is art in general and history. I remember my grandfathers telling me stories about the great Bulgarian kingdoms and khans, or about the Second World War. Being in wikipedia, or somewhere behind piles of history and art books, is a frequent thing for me. I just love to know and expand my general culture.
Since I am capable of drawing and painting, I dedicate a lot of time being alone. Maybe that is one of the reasons I am such an individualist. Some people fear of being alone but I embrace such moments because they are so rare but so precious to me. Having nobody beside you can really open your mind and heart to the problems you normally ignore. By painting I really open myself to the thing I do and to my internal world completely ignoring everything and everybody else around me. Call me nuts but I do appreciate such times.
As my style of drawing and painting recently I am experimenting a lot. For years I renounced using colors and drew only with black pens, pencils and carbon. But now I paint with oil and watercolor and I have to say IT'S SO MUCH FUN. My concept of art is that it's not a thing that has no meaning and usefulness. That's why I like sketching using art to embody my ideas of something real and useful such as a car. But by using colors I let myself experimenting and expressing inner emotions which I have no other way to know. Watching at the colors on my canvas or sheet of paper gives me so much stimulation and though I work a lot, I don't feel tired after.
Here I should mention my favorite painters, sculptors and architects. The first place is absolutely for Michelangelo Buonarotti. He is my personal idol! He gave to Italy so much to be proud of! ( Here I should mention that I haven't been in Rome yet! But I am really looking forward - an art trip to the Italian capital would be a priceless thing for me!)
Then comes Caravaggio. He had a life full of troubles and died by syphilis. Although he reached such a peak of realism in his works that I think nobody has done.
After that I place Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Antonio Canova. These two sculptors have reach such perfection in what they did that I am sure there is nobody who sees something from them won't just wow.
Some will say that I am too classical and I don't understand nothing of modern art. Maybe they are right but I will say only one thing. For me art is truly art when immitates reality to such perfection that takes it's place and becomes even more important than reality itself. ( Usually, philosophy is the object that I truly ignore but when I speak of concepts of art I become a Socrates. )
But speaking of more recent art I cannot but say that I find really beautiful some works of Munch and Schiele. But to appreciate their works or the paintings of anyone, one has to inform himself about the life of the artist.
The next thing I want to share about my personality is that I am passionate player of chess. Recently, I had time problems and couldn't dedicate myself to this great game. Most of the people think that chess is a boring and even stupid game. But I disagree to that! Chess is one of the oldest games to the known world, having, of course, some transformations during its history. It is a game of great strategy, tactic and pace. Personally, I consider an important chess match even more exhausting by a football match.
My music tastes are a bit confused. First, I have to say that my parents are from the golden rock generation ('60, '70) so this fact influenced me in many ways. I remember listening to Ac/Dc, Deep Purple and Dire Straits in the family car and I really enjoyed that times. But since 2003 I change my approach to music. I had the chance to know a future DJ and he showed me the beauty of the electronic music. Now I enjoy listening to vocal progressive trance, sometimes dance, house, drum'n'bass, psytrance and even goa. I like putting my big headphones on and just close my eyes entering in a new world. ( Here I should mention that I usually don't smoke weed and I don't get myself drunk very often.)

I know that I have overdone myself by writing so much but I like it when it comes to take a step back and see what person you are. It's very useful! I hope I didn't get anyone bored and I hope to see you! Thank you for your time!

PHILOSOPHY

Hmmm, this will be interesting thing to write about. First of all, I have to say that I am a Catholic and I used to go to church a lot when I was in Bulgaria. Now in Italy I don't practice my religion but when I rarely visit a cathedral or a church I still get the same feelings from before.
I can say that I am following a philosophy of life based mainly on inner peace and tranquility. I think that the world will be a better place if only people could understand one thing. If you are happy with yourself then you can be happy with everything else around you. As I said before I really enjoy the moments in which I am alone. To gain that inner peace with yourself is the most important thing to a happy life. I know it is difficult and sounds abstract but I really try to follow these principles. That's why I have never been in a real fight with someone ( I mean fist fights) and I try not to provoke anyone. Not that I won't be able to defend myself just that I don't want to cause damage to anyone. The same thing can be applied to the relations between people. It's even harder but it's worth trying it. Provoking and attacking is a frequent thing for all of us which is based on self-dissatisfaction. If we are good to ourselves then maybe we will be good to the others. This is my idea of a life philosophy and I really trying to follow it.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I am so proud that I came to Italy and actually already done so much. I like this land of art and beauty. I feel so inspired just by breathing air here. My family and I had to endure a lot of hard moments but now I am happy to say that it was worth all the sacrifices. I won't ever forget the change that I had to do in myself when I came to Italy.
