Where should I start? The name is Pete, living in Lahti,Finland. I consider myself an open book and an easy going guy. I'm driven too succeed at whatever I do, and if I'm not doing my best then I'm wasting my time. This pretty much bleeds into all aspects of my life. There are things about me I would like to improve, both physically and mentally. Been living abroad as well travelling a lot too.

Although I spend a considerable amount of time with friends, I also spend a considerable amount of time alone, which is one example of how independent person I am. My previous friendships & relationships have allowed me to understand what it is that draws me to certain people and also turn me away from others. However, I do think that I have become much more open-minded, understanding and accepting of many things that I was so guarded against in my past. I'm very laid back and have been accused of being "normal" by many people. I'm goal oriented and I have ambitions in life, as should everyone.

I typically think with my heart more than my head, and I truly believe in living my life the way I feel, as opposed to how others see that I should live it. I'm sensitive and empathetic treating everyone with a high amount of respect. I also stay strong in my values and convictions as to what I believe in. You can consider me pretty well rounded.

I've been known for having a good heart, high morals and an awesome guy overall. The best way to describe me is I don't follow the beat of everyone else's drum. I'm definately a natural born leader. I enjoy all sorts of activities, just kind of depends on who I am with. I'm the type of guy that will try anything atleast once. Don´t like empty chat chat. I've found some serenity and relaxation in recent months that was lacking before, and I owe alot of that to the people around me. "To stay happy and enjoy life to the fullest".

In my spare time....Reading: I like books based on true stories, historical ones. More about the author than the genre. Ask me and I’ll tell you my favourites. Working out: health is important to me. Exercise and eating healthy (most of the time), swimming, jogging, skiing. My job causes me to not go to the gym as much as I’d like. Being social: love house parties, going out with friends, eating out, that sort thing.

I enjoy the jazz clubs every once in awhile, but don’t go out much to them anymore, some concerts I’m taking a part. I like to think that means I’m exploring my other interests instead of getting older. Travel: love it, done much.. Pets: I like dogs but no time for them. Other...History: My favourite subject. Watch history stuff on TV, read stuff about history, would love to see the ruins of Rome, etc. CARS: I love going for drives. Almost nothing is more satisfying then a beautiful night driving in warm Summer bright night, me in my car with, good music, driving up and down the way. Friends: Where and who would I be without my friends? I dunno, but I would rather not find out. They are very important to me. You know who you are. That’s just the basics, Life is good.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The travelling is my passion, meeting new places, people, culture. For me those five star, extra cleaning fancy hotels cant give the same experience than couchsurfing among local native people!
