About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To learn the skill of traveling with very little

ABOUT ME

I grew up in a beautiful wild area in the hills of Scotland, then caught the travel bug and travelled all over the world meeting some amazing people and seeing some aw inspiring sites.
Currently running a make do and mend workshop teaching forgotten hands on skills.
My main passion in life is getting out into nature as much as possible.

PHILOSOPHY

If you can't fix it then MacGyver it

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Offer a nice comfy couch and also the opportunity to come learn some new skills in my workshop.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Used it before but not on the website just word of mouth and meeting people. The last couple of years I lived in a big house of 11 people in which we hosted many couch surfers which was great fun. They didn't go directly through me as i was not using the site then, but i met people from many wonderful places.
I will have a flat from August 2012 and can host more lovely people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Stood at the bottom of the grand canyon as a freak snow storm blew in during the summer

Surfed with turtles in Hawaii

Walking in the night over volcanic rock to watch the volcano spew molten lava into the sea ( a few days before it erupted)

Walked through the mist in Dartmoor while wild horses ran past me

Sledged down Mt Fuji on an old pair of trousers

Teach, Learn, Share

I run a practical community workshop teaching sustainable hands on skills such as how to repair bicycles, how to repair clothes, wood craft, metal craft and leather craft. All couch surfers are welcome to come with me to the play shop and learn some new skills.
