About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Write and produce music, work at things I love to do.

ABOUT ME

I grew up in a small town on an island in the North Atlantic Ocean where the waves incessantly crash on the rocks and finding beauty is an inevitable daily occurrence. The ocean travels with me wherever I go.

Music, Movies, and Books

Right now, I'm listening to The Tragically Hip, Jake Nicoll, Flying Burrito Brothers, Beck, Jennifer Castle, Braids, Neko Case, Modest Mouse, ....

Movies: I've always loved the movie "Sleepers" - a story of friendship, community, hard lives, and vengeance. "Birdman" and "Revenent" were on the top of my list in the past few years. Also recently watched "Electric Kids" and "The Sessions" and quite enjoyed those.

Books: I am very into Humanistic and Existential Psychology, as well as Systems Theory. So I love to read Carl Rogers and Gregory Bateson. I tend to read Buddhist and Zen texts usually, but not so much lately. Fiction-wise, Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse Five has been a favourite of mine for many years. Lately, Miranda July's "The First Bad Man" tickled my fancy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think something amazing happens to me just about everyday. Looking at the southside hills that descend into St. John's harbour is something I do every day and I think I love them more and more the longer I live in St. John's. I've seen a natural geyser around Bay Bulls that was amazing, I've traveled with a folk festival in Ireland.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like listening to people's stories, interests, plans, troubles, conflicts, hopes, fears, and all other aspects of their selves. I also like silence. I like sharing music and ideas.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A fairly comfortable futon or twin bed, some food and drink, walks in the city and outside the city, really great friends.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, France, Ireland, Italy, Peru, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
