About Me
I've been using CS for a few years now and I've met so many great people from all around the world :) I love hearing all about different cultures and the stories that people have to tell, and to see the things that only local people know about. Of course when I'm not away then I'd love to share my city of York with other people too, give them a place to stay, have a drink and a laugh.
I like to get out skiing and mountaineering in the winter and scuba diving and playing cricket in the summer. I've been doing archery for a few years now too. I'd also like to be fluent in three languages, English, French, and Italian and I'm always going off to Sicily to keep on practicing and meet up with the all the friends I've made over the years!
As for my time at uni, I did my undergraduate degree in Bioarchaeology at York and last year I finished my Master's in Conflict Archaeology at Glasgow. I'm interested in how conflict affects biodiversity in the present day, and how the environment can be contaminated by conflicts of the past. Artillery shelling and dumped munitions, especially from WWI, still release a lot of chemicals into the enviroment that can be pretty damaging.
I travel around the county to different places as part of my job but I'm still in York at weekends and I'd be more than happy to meet up for a drink etc. even if you don't need a place to stay. I know some good hiking routes to the towns outside of York and up in the Moors, so if that sounds fun then hit me up :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To explore the world and have fun whilst meeting some great people and making great memories; and giving travellers the chance to do the same with me. I can teach you a couple languages, the guitar, oboe and how to solve a Rubik's Cube in under 1 minute.
The 3 places I want to visit in the next couple of years are the Hagia Sofia, Angkor Wat and the Great Barrier Reef.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like scary movies for having a food time but I tend to prefer movies with some kind of meaning behind them. As for books, I like history and adventure books. My favorite author is H.P. Lovecraft. Also I 100% know all the trivia there is to know about the first six Star Wars.
I like classic rock and metal quite a bit (Iron Maiden is the greatest band in the world) but I'm pretty eclectic, I'm also into modern reggae/ragga music and I try to keep up with the new releases so I can try and seem cool at house parties.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I won a game of poker with Will Smith at Hard Rock Cafe in London a couple of years ago and he paid for me and my friends' dinner 👍
My dad and I used to restore classic cars when i was younger and at the moment I have my 1969 Mustang which I'm restoring on my own. It was half rust when I bought it and I love talking about it so you've been warned. It's very nearly finished so soon you might get a ride in it (if it's not broken down)...
But the real dream is that one day, Nicole Scherzinger will look at me the same way she does her Müller corner yoghurts.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I make killer veggie lasagne, but absolutely everything else I cook turns out terrible, if that sounds appealing then let me stay and I'll teach you the secret.
