Overview
About Me
Long time traveller. I love spending time on two wheels, and learning to stand up on a paddle board. I've lived half a year in Morocco, and half a year in my van cruising the USA and Canada. I've worked as a community worker & social justice organizer, baker & pizza cook, in community radio and on farms.
Currently applying to go back to do a Masters in Social Work, and starting a side career in English-as-an-Additional-Language instruction.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My tent is being fixed at MEC right now, and meanwhile I want to spend some days in the BC interior for summer travel. Couchsurfing has been recommended to me from several folks, and while I'm new to it, I'm not new to the style of travel. I've spent many months on over ten organic farms as a Wwoofer across Canada. I've done lots of ride-sharing, and hitch-hiking/picking up hitch-hikers.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: all Latin music, but especially Brasilian Samba and Maracatu (I perform in both) and I do capoeira (the Brasilian martial art/dance). Chill and lofi hiphop, reggae, indie rock, experimental music, folk.
Movies & books - love magical realism, and stories with political/historical commentary or backdrop. I've come quite late to the Studio Ghibli bandwagon, but I'm squarely on it now :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Helped organize a union. That was a trip.
