About Me

I live in Budapest, got married to the most wonderful women in 2012. We love to travel together so we try to do this as much as we can, which is usually "only" 2 or maybe 3 times in a year - a longer, 10 day trip and one or two long weekends, and some 1 day trips inside Hungary. I know it is more than the avarege can go, I say only, because if could, we would travel much much more. :)
Fortunately there are more and more foreigners in Budapest, so I have a higher chance to meet a random strangers at a bar, have a good talk and maybe meet again. I have my own views and opinions and also consider myself and open minded person , so I like to speak with others about their own opinions in hope of learning some new aspects.

Right now we are on a long-awaited 3 months trip around the world, included the US, Korea, Japan, Mongolia and a little bit of China and maybe a bit of Poland at the end.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

At first we stayed at places with Airbnb. The main reason is to meet local people, hear their stories about living in their country and city. We always want to get as close as we can to the local style of living - of course we know we are tourists, and you can't really see a place through the eyes of people actually living there, but we will try our best. :)
Now we want to try couch surfing as well. It seems to be a much closer interaction with people.
Of course I would lie, if I'd say money is not important at all - right now we are on a three month trip, so we are on a budget: if we can spare a little on accommodations, we can get to more places and experience more. And after all, that is one of the most important for me (or for us) during travel: see and experience from the local culture as much as we can.

Interests

- Like to travel - no big surprise here :) - or just hike around Budapest
- Sit down in a bar or outside with friends, and just talk about things, important and silly things
- animals - we have 6 pets

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We are on a three month trip right now with my wife, visiting the US, Korea, Japan, Mongolia, China and Poland. This is definitely my biggest adventure so far.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am more than happy to cook some meals - maybe some Hungarian if the Host is interested.
Experiences about the differences and similarities between our cultures or the other places we visited. My wife earlier lived in Yemen and Srí Lanka and traveled around a lot since she was a child.
(Also will clean up after ourselves, but I think it is the bear minimum.)

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, China, Croatia, Egypt, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mongolia, Morocco, Romania, South Korea, Spain, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
