Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've never traveled on my own before. I'm looking for an authentic way to travel and hopefully gain an insight into your country/language/culture that I can't get from staying at a hotel.

Interests

Biology, science, medicine, languages, music (classically trained cellist), food, photography

My ultimate goal is to be a doctor in New York City and be able to speak to all of my patients without needing an interpreter. After Italian, I will study French, then return to studying Mandarin (and possibly Arabic or Hindi).

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: My two favorite musicians are Tchaikovsky and Kanye West.

Movies: I love sci-fi and fantasy, ranging from Star Wars to the Marvel superhero movies to the Dark Knight trilogy. Also enjoy watching Spanish films, particularly those by Pedro Almodóvar.
