Overview
About Me
Hey!
I'm travelling through Iran at the moment then heading to France.
-------------
I'm a freelance animator and spend most of my time doing commercial work. Outside of that I love drawing, life drawing in particular, heading out to gigs, hanging out with friends and learning French.
I've been learning French for the last two years and am pushing myself to get to a conversational level before I get to France.
I've travelled a fair bit. I lived in Malaysia for 2 years so I've seen a lot of SE Asia. I've also been to Botswana a number of times and some of the neighbouring countries (Namibia and South Africa). I've only touched on Europe a bit so planning to explore further.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet different people and get a better sense of place I'm in. I'd rather hang out with locals than go and see the tourist attractions.
Interests
Animation (very diverse ranging from 3D to 2D), drawing (and life drawing), music (electronic, hip hop and everything else, I had a big Paul Simon phase recently).
I'm really into being physical and staying healthy. I ride a bike most places, run sometimes, do a bit of yoga. I like to eat and cook vegetarian but I can't turn down meat if I'm offered it.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music, favourite artist at the moment is Nicolas Jaar. I spend a lot of time on Soundcloud.
Not sure about favourite movie, I've got a top 5 list with 20 movies in it. A few on the list: Hook, Eastern Promises, 12 Monkeys, The Constant Gardener, American History X, anything that gets a reaction out of me.
Favourite books include Animal Farm, Lord of the Flies, IQ84, L'etranger.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Heading to a psytrance festival alone in Kunming, China and meeting heaps of cool people, then meeting up with them throughout China for the rest of my trip.
Climbed Mt Kinabalu in Borneo with barely any prep and had Frankenstein legs for a few days after (the steps coming down were a killer).
Travelled across Namibian desert in a cramped combi with 10 other people. Swakopmund made it all worth it though. The dunes, the ocean, felt like another world.
Travelling to Indonesia for the first time when I was 16. Such a culture shock. It was then that I realised how big the world really is.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: Design, drawing and animation. I'm pretty good with various software (design, 3D, animation). I'm also happy to help people out with their English.
Learn: Always looking to improve my French. I want to learn Piano!
Share: I've got a lot of experiences that feed into my opinions that I can share. I love to cook (and eat).
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would be happy to cook you a delicious (and healthy) dinner and do the washing up. I actually like doing the dishes because it's a great time to ponder.
I love talking politics (this may be a negative).
