About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I'm in Padova, Italy for 2 months, and likely won't have a chance to travel like this again for a number of years. I'm interested in learning some Italian, so I can have a "secret language" with my girlfriend when we're in the US. I'd also love to learn how to cook some Italian food properly, and meet new people.
ABOUT ME
I grew up in a small, historic town in Ontario, Canada, Niagara-On-the-Lake, went to University and then moved to NYC, spent some time in Boston, and have most recently been living in Brooklyn. I'm going to be moving back to Ontario in the fall to become a Paramedic after a number of years in tech sales in the US.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I haven't couchsurfed that much, because I typically don't travel places where I don't have friends or family. That said, I have hosted people before, and I enjoy the experience. I think I'm a good house guest, because I'm quiet, respectful and like my privacy, but also enjoy meeting new people.
Interests
I spend a lot of time playing games, listening to music and reading nonfiction (politics, science etc.). Outside of that, I really like to hang out with my friends and family, bike and go to shows/concerts. When I can, I like to go on adventures, but my life is pretty busy, so I don't get go on as many as I'd like.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: http://www.last.fm/user/egadss
I read a lot of books, some of my favourite authors are: Noam Chomsky, Glenn Greenwald, Stephen Jay Gould and Suzanne Collins.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I summited a dead volcano in Iceland that overlooks the Glymur waterfall (the highest in Iceland), with my brother, in February. It was cold.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm not sure I'd say I'm an expert in anything, or that I have enough knowledge about any particular subject to be a teacher, but I have some life experience that people might find interesting. I've worked in restaurants in NYC, both as a server and manager. I've worked in tech sales, negotiating with large companies such PayPal and Facebook. Being a Canadian who has lived in the US, I think I have an interesting perspective on the country.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Since I'm currently in Italy, I would be happy to help hosts practice their English. I'm also a decent cook, and would love to make some (actually delicious) vegan food for my hosts.
