About Me
(Don't tell my friend I chose an awful picture of her...)
I was born and raised in Kansas City and I'm in LA pursuing my masters in music composition at USC. I did my undergrad at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. I'm also a graphic designer and photographer by trade. I play cello and piano. Wow, none of this flows. My favorite color is blue.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To kick it with cool, exceptional, beautiful, transcending human beings such as myself (and also as a way to pay it forward to the community of givers that have helped me through life).
Some random hosting info:
I live in an apartment complex for students so I have to escort you in and out. If we plan ahead, it shouldn't be a problem. Plus there is a lot to do in the actual complex if you'd rather stay in; as in, if one pool isn't enough, there are four others at your disposal, a restaurant, gym, lounge areas, rec rooms, movie theater, free coffee, the works (it's almost too nice). I have one couch and a floor. I have two roommates. I don't have a car (I know, in LA? wtf?) I am LGBTQI-friendly, and my couch is open to all races and religions, etc. etc. etc.
Interests
Eating until I hate myself, live music, local food, learning about new cultures, hearing strangers' life stories, crying over ATM balance receipts, documentaries, watching my dog do her dog thing, seeing pitiful results at the gym... running at the asscrack of dawn, smelling that fresh outdoor air, doing face masks, trying new beer, cocktails (I prefer whiskey. Save the tequila for those morally exceptional nights), Korean food, Indian food, Mediterranean food, food... and food, quietly contemplating the worth of my college degree over candlelight, etc. I'm pretty open-minded and there isn't much that I don't like!

Music, Movies, and Books
Currently reading Naked Lunch by William S. Burroughs, and Testimony: Memoirs of Shostakovich by Solomon Volkov. In terms of cinema, I'll watch The Holy Mountain by Jodorowsky and Bridesmaids and enjoy them equally.
I will listen to anything and try to find something I like about it no matter how much I initially hate it. Keyword: try.
The music I write is pretty eclectic; my latest pieces are a jazz/pop-inspired saxophone quartet concerto recently performed live in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and another piece I wrote is for electronics, mezzo-soprano, cellos, violas, and dancers performed at a TEDx.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Won Audience Vote at my high school men's pageant show, so there's that.
