About Me

I'm an "E-Nomad" with my wife, Erin.

What's this mean? Well, we've developed a way to make enough money to be on the road consistently for several months at a time. We tend to make a town or city our 'base of operations' in whatever country we are in, and then use it to strike out to destinations for long weekends when we are not working with our writing. As long as we have a decent internet connection we can make this happen!

We can scratch a living through being freelance writers in the cheapest countries in the world. We are by no means well off, in fact we are constantly broke! But it's totally worth it!

I couldn't go back to a 'normal' job and be stuck in the 'rat race'.....I'd rather be broke and live on the road seeing the world than being stuck in an office my whole life constantly in debt and with a mortgage to pay off. No thanks! :)

Currently, me and Erin are living in Dahab in Egypt.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just really like meeting people who can take me off the beaten trail a bit and showing me the local area! It totally changes the travelling experience for the better when you are staying and hanging out with local people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, numerous times in Sarande in Albania, and have had meetings in a bunch of other countries.

Interests

Currently I am a freelance travel writer, journalist etc. It is much less glamourous than it sounds, but allows me and Erin to live and travel temporarily in lots of countries as long as they are affordable (so forget the EU, North America etc.)

I love snorkelling. I have been to some pretty amazing sites in Indonesia, Thailand and Zanzibar, and recently just moved to the Red Sea in Egypt, which is also home to really world class sites on par with the best of them.

I love trying new food and drink from all the countries I visit. I will pretty much eat and try anything , with some exceptions (e.g no fried spiders !).

Snorkeled under an active volcano in Indonesia. That was pretty awesome.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have spent a few years travelling and living in South East Asia...If you need tips on the region, I can absolutely help you!

If I stay with you I can cook for you or help you cook. :) If you stay with me and Erin then we always like if our guests cook one night: But this is your choice. :)

Me and my wife Erin have just moved temporarily from Albania to Dahab in Sinai Province of Egypt, right on the Red Sea. So if you are in the area I can help with the best snorkeling sights and other stuff to do in the desert.
