About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Geting deeper down into the Earth's cultural, social and emotional turf

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Getting deeper into the whole CS experience - I travel a lot and have recently started hosting and surfing. Absolutely no doubts here that it is the best way to get touched by people living around the world and get deep in their habitat. Ultra-deep experience!

Interests

Art and politics, especially ACTION ART, that is "russian actionism" (like the VOINA group) in a huge variety of forms is the profession - since down here in Moscow we lead on and initiate a big number amount of crazy artistic practices, which bring together and touch politics, photography, street art, social themes and much more, from gender theory and French philosophy to Russian Rap and Oi! music subcultures.

And besides that - all the main pleasures of life, of course, travelling (did some extremely wild and dangerous hitchhiking in African and Asia when still was young and crazy), communicating with the good people, with the cool people, with the funny and the wise people.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC: Especially 70's-80's punk rock, but also Oi! music and other exciting 80's subcultural styles. At times in love with jazz, at times in love with rap, in times losing it at the modern Russian opera.

MOVIES: Everything Fellini and David Lynch, then the great Russians, of course - Tarkovsky and Eisenstein, at times getting deep into Godard, Lars von Trier and even Larry Clark.

BOOKS: I certainly am Russian crazy about our classics, the Tolstoys and the Dostoevskis, but a special influence is also the modern Russian stuff you probably haven't heard of - crazy conceptualist writers and poets like Vladimir Sorokin, Dmitry Prigov or the politicized poetical realism of Edward Limonov.
