ABOUT ME

The first thing you would probably notice about me is my red hair. It stands out in a crowd more than my personality might. The next thing you would notice is entirely to your choosing. I hugely enjoy reading books, listening to music, and having long and rambling conversations into the wee hours. In fact, I would like my life to be an unending conversation. I have a voracious linguistic appetite, so please teach me what language(s) you know!

PHILOSOPHY

I like to think I don't have any philosophy so firmly adhered-to that I can't have a chuckle when it gets demolished or implodes. But I'd prefer you to ask me specifically, as I can't expect to list here absolutely everything I've ever thought about the world.

Lately I've been reading non-fiction stuff by people like David Graeber, Simon Critchley, Silvia Federici, Michael Taussig, Marshall Sahlins, Norbert Elias, Clifford Geertz... mostly anthropology/anarchism-related stuff I guess.My favourite writers include Jorge Luis Borges, Gabriel García Márquez, Bohumil Hrabal, Franz Kafka, John Forbes, Julio Cortázar, Friedrich Nietzsche, Robert Walser, Don DeLillo, JM Coetzee. I like Australian poetry. But lately I've only really been reading anthropological texts.My favourite music would be the following if that pendejo in Peru didn't nick my iPod: Miles Davis, Fela Kuti, Orchestre Poly-Rythmo de Cotonou, Deerhoof, Dick Diver, Lightning Bolt, Tortoise, Jurassic 5, Antibalas, Mulatu Astatke, Tlahoun Guessesse, Mahmoud Ahmed, Menahan Street Band, El Michels Affair, Animal Collective, Albert Ayler, Boredoms, Sharon Jones, Charles Wright, Aesop Rock, The Necks, Peter Brötzmann, Toots, Wu-Tang Clan and copious quanitities of 70s African pop plucked from various mp3 blogs.
