ABOUT ME

Im easygoing but sometimes when someone humors me the right way i become a mad maniacal masterpiece of raw fIavor and crazy good times. I enjoy doing crazy things in good company. I wanna travel like there's no tomorrow and do it in the style of old travel romance: steam engines, riverboats, oxcarts, trainroofs, around the world in 80 days-style. I like to hear mad stories with a little bit of storyteller legend added, i like to relate my stories as well. I love to travel and meet other people from various cultures and upbringings. I love to see how people all over are just the same in the core no matter what sort of culture, religion or color they are. Love to educate myself the uncommon way: a bit about everything and everybody. Love to listen to new stories about travel in particular and life in general.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I will be hosting people as much as possible after i get back to Finland. Havent been able to host a lot of people cos i have been constantly on the road last couple of years.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed a couple of times this far and i've found it a very good way to get a better view of the city im visiting, cos i get to see the good places right away. Especially true if u don't have much time.

Interests

Aside of traveling i like all kinds of sports. Diving and surfing and the occasional village soccergame while im traveling. Back home i play icehockey in a worldfamous team called Nahka-Ässät among other sports. Im also an avid reader but more often than not i don't find enough time to read back home. Also chess, poker and pool are my favorites.

Books: Conrad's Heart of Darkness, Kerouac's On The Road and Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray'

Movies: Harsh Times, Blood Diamond and Notorious

Music: I mostly listen to hiphop but depending on my mood i might go for jazz or blues or sometimes funk or roots.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once had a great day out in pretty surreal place for people from western upbringing, Dhaka in Bangladesh. Me and my friend went around the city randomly for a day by public transport. We would jump onto some kind of transportation and go on till we saw something interesting, then went on to investigate and carried on. We pretty much covered all aspects of the city: The Old town with cycle-rickshaw trafficjams to the Embassy district with Benzes and back to the walled-out slums across a lake with a rowboat. After a ride on a rooftop of a train we ended up having a tea and a chat on the roof of a highrise watching the sun go down. To top that off we went to have a beer in an illegal saloon that made me reminisce of my days in Prohibition era Chicago working as a bartender. It was a glorious day!
