About Me

I am a very outgoing, open-minded and laid-back person who is always interested in broadening my horizons by dealing with different nationalities and cultures - preferable along with some draft beers and a nice company.

Since July 2018 I am on a World-Travel-Sabbatical with my wife Svenja. On our first "mission" we bought a van in Alaska and traveled all the way down to Nicaragua, living the real "vanlife".
Afterwards we bought some bicycles and explored the Hawaiian Islands on them before working in a Eco Hotel in Samoa for a month. After a summer in Europe we are back on the road - currently exploring South America in our 4x4!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It is great to meet people along the way from all sorts of background and culture!

I really only use CS frequently since this trip and so far it has been amazing!

Interests

All kinds of sports (e.g. football/soccer, kite-surfing, diving, golf, tennis)
traveling
cooking; since cooking in the van is not always easy, we invented a very tasty and healthy campfire-pizza :)
I try to play the Ukulele :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I pretty much like all-time rock classics like Steppenwolf, ACDC as well as more relaxed music like Bob Dylan or Bob Marley.

Movies & TV: Big Band Theory, Modern family, Breaking Bad, Lost... most things, but horror movies. I love the Indiana Jones movies!

Books: I am about to finish Michael Crichton's whole bibliography :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Skydiving (and I am really not a person that likes heights...)
- Travelling with a van through the Australian outback (mission failed - thanks to our Ford)
- Travelling with a van from Alaska to Central America (mission completed - thanks to our VW)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can help you with German (or English or reaaaaly basic Spanish), and I think I am a pretty good cook.
I am also pretty good at Excel and picked up some knowledge about car meachincs and registration processes all over the Americas :D
