About Me
CURRENT MISSION
It's conference season!
ABOUT ME
I spend most of my time either doing philosophy or drinking with philosophers. My work is in philosophy of language. I also enjoy making music. I play the tuba, banjo, harmonica, and ukulele. Recently I've been spending a lot of time in Chicago, as my girlfriend is doing a PhD at UChicago. I spent Autumn 2013 studying in Austin.
PHILOSOPHY
My research focuses on the semantics of proper names, and I have a fair amount to say about that. I wouldn't say I have a personal philosophy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I joined CS when my girlfriend and I were travelling from Chicago to Austin overland, and we were looking for good places to stay on the way. We had an amazing time and met some great people, some of whom we've stayed in touch with. We'll definitely couchsurf on future travels. I'll be hosting for the first time in London in a couple of weeks.

Interests
Other than philosophy, I enjoy travelling, making and listening to music, spending time in pubs, cooking good food, and absorbing inane trivia.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like happy films and melancholy music.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm terrible at explaining things, which is unfortunate for my students, but you can probably coax me into a conversation about philosophy. Beware of me confidently stating facts, they might not be facts at all.
