CURRENT MISSION
Make the world a better place. At least trying ...
ABOUT ME
My wife and me live in Berlin. She's also on CS ( https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/samaneh-jamshidi )
I lived in Berlin almost all my life but there are still many exciting places in the city that I've never seen. Samaneh is a psychologist and I work as a social worker. We love traveling and meeting locals. It's much more interesting than staying in a hotel or hostel. And we want to give this inside perspective to people who visit Berlin.
Please write a little bit about yourself, if you want to stay with us. So that we can get an impression who you are!
PHILOSOPHY
tolerant, peaceful, vegetarian, cosmopolitan, helpful, adventurous
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
CS is a great project. It connects people from all over the world. You can share your ideas, philosophy and stories.
I met so many inspiring people on Couchsurfing. I can't get enough.
Interests
I'm interested in Degrowth and sharing economy. Basically the idea behind it: A downscaling of production and consumption increases human well-being and enhances ecological conditions and equity on the planet. One can say, that it is the opposite of the capitalistic system, that we have right now. Of course it is a social utopia, but the more people knowing about Degrowth, the sooner we can reach this level. Link: http://www.degrowth.de/en/
I also like dancing; especially Lindy Hop. It's danced to swing music and combines elements of European parnter dances and African-American dances. In the 1930s it was a Counter-culture to the ruling fascist system in Germany and it had a wonderful revival in many Cities in the last years.
I have done different kinds of martial arts. Mostly I did something called Jutaijutsu, which is an art of meditation and fighting inspired by Japanese techniques with bare hands and with traditional weapons. Link: http://kadeshi.de/
I'm interested in archaeology. Mostly because I studied Medieval archaeology and I have always been interested, how people in the past were living. But not so much in old sherds, maybe this distinguishes me from a "real" archaeologist.
Recently I started learning the Persian language and I'm very much interested in Persian culture and history as well.
And I like reading Sci-Fi novels and thinking about how they are related to the real life.
