About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Our mission is to build bridges between people and communities all over the world to create a greater understanding
ABOUT ME
We lived overseas for about 7 years. In 2012 we returned to Canada to see how to live in our home country again. We live in small spaces - sometimes a yurt, sometimes a small house and move fluidly between country life and city life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Since we have lived as volunteers in many places we are used to travelling with a small budget and have found that these types of travel experiences are more rich and interesting. We use CS to find affordable places to stay and colourful characters to get to know.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We have used CS while travelling in Kenya and San Francisco.
Interests

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Visiting cattle camps in South Sudan with hundreds of cattle roaming around us; snorkelling off the coast of Kenya; spending time with a Buddhist monk in South Korea.
Teach, Learn, Share
Joel can give some great sourdough baking tips for bread and pizza. He is also a kombucha expert.
Heather can share ideas of peacebuilding, trauma education, and reconciliation.
We love learning everything!
