NOTICE
Sue and I left Fiji recently, after spending 20 years there taking boxes of library books to village schools in remote areas. We got a small village house in the south west corner of France, near to Perpignan and the Pyrenees mountains. However, renewing my visa was a problem so we left France & are now living in Penang, Malaysia. Please see our website www.pacificoutreach.com for a more complete update.

ABOUT US
Well.....we've been doing different types of charity work since about 45 years: first in India and Nepal, then in Africa , the Caribbean and the Pacific--see photos. It's all on a voluntary basis and so the last time we received an actual salary was 1975! We love traveling, seeing new places and meeting new people. Every year, up until the Pandemic, we were getting round-the-world tickets that took us to our main base in Fiji but that also allowed us to do drug-prevention programs in the Caribbean, as well as visit many other places....

PHILOSOPHY
We're Christian, but not linked to any church. We believe that we're here on Earth for a purpose and that purpose is to do all we can to help others. We have spent most of our adult lives doing voluntary work and; have found that the more we help others, the more fulfilled and happy we are!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Couch surfing has been fantastic for us. We've had various couch surfing guests at our house in Fiji and our apartment in Malaysia, (separate profile), and we make an effort to stay in touch with all our couch surfing hosts and guests around the world by email. We also invite all our CS hosts to come and stay with us; that offer applies to any new hosts as well. We sold our house in Fiji but you are welcome to visit us in Malaysia or France!

Not much time for books but we like movies and music that have meaning. Romantic/comedy films are always nice, as well as some action films, period dramas, true stories.

It's a fantastic planet we live in! We've had the privilege of visiting over 100 countries and meeting people from all walks of life. There have been amazing sights of all kinds--the Himalayas, Victoria Falls, the Taj Mahal and much more--but the best memories are those of connecting with kind and helpful people, no matter what their origin.

We believe that we can learn something from almost everyone that we meet. Perhaps our belief systems may not be exactly the same but we can still admire their goals, their dedication, their talents and ideals. Every human being is a unique creation of God and is in the process of finding their full potential.

A lifetime of amazing experiences! A lot of hosts find it interesting, for example, that we've lived without a salary since the 1970s! It may also be of interest that we get round-the-world tickets each year and basically travel around the world doing voluntary work!
On a different level, it should also be added that we'll be very happy to help in any home we stay in: do the dishes, mow the lawn, sweep the floor or whatever needs doing!
