About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is try to have international experiences while in Los Angeles!

ABOUT ME

Right. I heard about this from my friend, Miriam. She's apparently quite involved with the Couch Surfing community in Prague,CZ. I've seen pictures of her adventures in facebook, and she convinced me to sign up.

PHILOSOPHY

Keep your ears open and make connections. I really think we are all here to make connections with each other. We are here to love each other. The thing is, once you have a taste of something different, you want to experience more of that variety. The struggle, if there is one, is to keep those connections while maintaining that variety.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, originally I just signed up because she told me I should. But then, after being here in Daejeon for a while, I realized it would be a great way to meet people that like to travel just as much as I do.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've always traveled on a budget. So, even when I somehow paid for a room somewhere, it felt like I was on a couch.
But the fact is, I've always enjoyed sleeping 'low end'. In fact, sometimes I think the reason to have a brother in another city is so that you can sleep on his couch, and vice versa.

Interests

I have a lot of interests. Music, soccer, beach action (surfing, beach soccer, hanging out), chess, books are all big interests of mine.

Music, Movies, and Books

movies: Blade Runner, Finding Neverland, Gosford Park, Wings of Desire, the first Batman with Christian Bale, Once, The Party
Music: jazz, indie, house, world music and classical sometimes: The View, Feist, all the groups from Dave Chappelle's House Party,Jeff Buckley, early Stevie Wonder, the Kinks, but really everything
Books: A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Crime and Punishment, The Sun Also Rises (most of Hemingway's novels), short stories by Chekhov, Borges, The Third Policeman

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I sang for the pope once when I was about 13. I traveled with my boy's choir from LA and we went right into the huge plaza in front of Saint Peter's Basilica. Right after the Scottish Bagpipers we were on. It was pretty cool.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm really good at introducing people. A lot of times people have a party and they just kind of leave you on your own. They say the name of the other person, and leave you to your own devices. I'd say that works less than 50 percent of the time. If at a party, or just between two friends that don't know each other, I'm very good at creating these connections. It's one of my hobbies.
