Hi, I am Petr. I am a czech boy, slowly finishing my studies of international horticultural MSc programme.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Thanks to my hitchhiking experiences I have learned, that the best way to get to know a place, culture or language is hanging out with local people! For me, the way to discover a true spirit of a place is to get a beer in some dirty pub at the edge of a town (if thats what people usually do at your place). Maybe see and support your friends not very sucessful (not yet!) band. A gallery maybe? But lets not do the museum, lets check out the contemporary stuff.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music, movies? So many good music and movies... Let me list a couple of many, many bands I adore: Air, Beach House, Sonic Youth, Circulatory System, Smashing Pumpkins, The Chemical Brothers, Massive Attack, Men I Trust etc., or just anything Damon Albarn has ever done.
Movies: I like Ingmar Bergman and Jean-Luc Godard movies. I like good horror movies (hard to think of any, I have not seen a good one in a while. but some romantic comedies can be a horror for me (but 'Love Actually' is my weakness)), B-movies!- Hell Comes to Frog Town is a golden example I love.
I have these books next to my bed at the moment: Alchymist by Coehlo, Physics of Superheroes by Kakalios, SAS Survival Handbook by Wiseman, one by czech author, The New School of Amateur Movie by Řehořek. And I use Old Man and the Sea as a mousepad to write this.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think this one needs to wait a little, hard to pick an outstanding one. Maybe I will live it while surfing at your couch!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some useful czech lines. Maybe I can cook something typically czech (I can try)?
If you play any instruments and have a spare one we can jam, or I can teach you some basics on guitar, piano or drums. We can make a song about how comfy your couch is. I love shooting amateur videos of random stuff, so we can even make a movie to our new song.
I study plants, so if you have any questions I can try to answer those.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We can share a good mood while tasting some good czech schnapps or beer I will bring. Did you know that pilsner type of beer was actually invented in Czechia?
