About Me

Hi! 👋🏻
My name is Petra. I'm a passionate architect, currently living and working in Novi Sad, Serbia.

[for guests]
❗ If you want me to be your host, I can host only during weekends - Friday, Saturday, (maybe) Sunday - since I'm full time employed and working the rest of the days.
If you don’t have any references or photos or you’re lacking details in your profile, I cannot host you, sorry.
Please, have this in mind before texting me. Thanks ❗
- also, please don’t send me random friend requests and hellos in inbox

[back to me]
From an early age I started traveling and moved from my hometown to enroll into Serbian High School in Budapest, Hungary. I lived in a dormitory for four years and made friends for life! Throughout my studies in Serbia I have traveled a lot and met wonderful people from around the world. I have been on a Work and Travel program to USA two times, went on Erasmus student exchange in Poznań, Poland for one semester and did a two-monts-long Erasmus internship in Vienna, Austria. Of course, along the way, I was traveling a bit to some countries in Europe. Basically, I experienced working, studying, living and traveling abroad and met amazing people who I am still in touch with.

That's why I'm on Couchsurfing!
I am always open for new friendships, travels and life experiences!
World is a beautiful place to be explored.
Fortune favours the brave 🍀

However, I have to admit, occasionally I feel like I’m lacking bravery, like I fear failure and rejection. I know that sometimes you have to risk and try again, but I think I’m still learning to do that. Hopefully, future and years of life experience will teach me more, probably this app too - I really believe so.
On the other hand, I wouldn’t say I’m an introvert. Actually, quite opposite, I love being active and with people, trying new things. Of course, everybody needs some time alone from time to time, so do I :)

I always lived in cities and considered myself as an urban girl loving faster paced lifestyle, though I think this changes as you grow older. Every now and then, I do think of living in a countryside and how would that shape me completely differently.
But still, I would prefer walking around the streets, blinded by skyscrapers and city lights. At the end of the day, I’m still an architect who finished master’s degree in urbanism ;)

I’m probably most grateful for my beautiful childhood, my amazing parents and younger sister without whom I wouldn’t be what I am today 🫶🏻

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Basically, after finishing master's degree, I immediately got a job in my profession, which has both pros and cons. My studies were very dinamic, I used to travel a lot, always doing these programs where I was meeting lots of students from different countries. I love sharing experiences, speaking English, learning about new cultures and traveling. Now, since I'm employed, I don't have much time and opportunities like that. The routine somehow “ate” me and I hope that will change soon 🤞🏻

That's why I wanted to try this app! Hopefully, I will continue making friends abroad like I did ☀️
Not everybody has to be strangers :)

Interests

I love drawing and obviously that's why I wanted to go for architecture. I also admire art, I believe I’m more a visual type of a person. But architecture somehow combines art and engineering together and I love that.

During my free time I love hanging out with my friends. At home I'm usually doing some illustrations on my PC, watching movies and reading books.
I like going out and listening to good music as well.

I just loooove animals, second wish was becoming a vet. Back at hometown, where my parents still live, I have a cat and a dog, my cutest furry babies 🐾

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always open for learning about other cultures, languages, backgrounds and sharing perspectives.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm very neat and since I lived in a few dormitories, I am very adaptable.
Surely, I can offer good time and positive energy, I like deep conversations about different topics in life and my friends say I'm kinda funny and very approachable :)
I have to say, I’m not a big eater and a foodie, I’m not enjoying food as usually other people do 😅 Nevertheless, I’m not picky at all and I appreciate trying new foods. I’m always down for cooking together.
Also, I learned to be resourceful and independent, therefore don't worry much about me.
