About Me
CURRENT MISSION
If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. If you don't ask, the answer is always no. If you don't step forward, you're always in the same place.
ABOUT ME
I'm a very easy-going, open-minded, liberal and social person, who loves to travel around the world, meeting new people and cultures. I'm an ambitious, goal-oriented person with a positive attitude in life. I believe if you work hard enough for something you want, you will achieve it in the end. I love healthy, delicious food, good wine, dancing, chilling out in the nature by the sea...
PHILOSOPHY
You only have one life - I want to do something good, meaningful with mine. I believe if you contribute to other people's happiness, you will find the true meaning of life. To live in the moment, appreciate life as it is, be more thankful for what you have and don't take anything for granted.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Since I've recently moved to the USA I unfortunately can't host at the moment.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Three different couch surfers hosted me during my first week here in New York (all of them in Brooklyn, which was a really great experience!
Interests
I love to exercise and dance - been dancing hip hop since I was 8 years old, as well as competed 6 times in the Finnish Championships in Street dance (winning various medals). Been a pilates instructor in Finland.
I've been active in the organization CISV (Children's International Summer Villages) since I was 10, participated in numerous camps around the world as a child and leader. I've lived with families in Colombia, Brazil and Argentina, hence South-America lies close to my heart, and I love latin dance and music. In Argentina I lived one year as an exchange student and later on went back there to study at a university for six months. So, it feels like my second home country.
I love cooking healthy, delicious food and trying new stuff from around the world.
I have a passion and desire to work (within NGO's) for local communities in the developing countries, fighting for their rights when it comes to various socio-cultural, environmental and economic impacts caused by the Western countries, particularly within the tourism industry.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Plenty of them... amazing to visit Patagonia and see and walk on the enormous glaciers, that are sadly slowly melting away.
It has been so inspiring and wonderful to work within peace education with children from all around the world. To see them develop and grow, and prevent prejudices to be born.
Doing my field research for my Master's degree in Bocas del Toro, Panamá - spending time with local communities on the islands and rain forests was very eye-opening and insightful.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could share about my travels, experiences, studies, while I would like to learn more about others' travels and experiences/insights. That's what interaction is all about! I could share some healthy food and cooking, and delicious recipes.
